Welcome to the two newest MR SCIENCE Laboratory members Isabelle Zinghini, a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering, and Rashad Ismail, a Master's student also in Biomedical Engineering.
Isabelle Zinghini is a doctoral student with a background in Physics, Mechanical Design Engineering, product design, and product testing. During her time as a Mechanical Design Engineer, she coordinated and conducted safety testing across three continents in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). She also designed, developed and executed additional product-specific lab tests for safety and function. Isabelle joined the MR SCIENCE laboratory in 2022 to work on MRI hardware and multi-coil shimming. She believes in the potential for good design to promote equity in healthcare and beyond, and hopes to bring this ethos to her doctoral research.
Rashad Ismail has over four years of experience in mechanical/ biomedical engineering and worked on several design projects during that time. Having gained experience in several companies and institutions including Audi, Fulbright, and the University Hospital RWTH Aachen, he also strived for a project management program at UC Riverside. Now, he is a graduate student at Columbia Engineering studying biomedical engineering with a focus on design, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He joined the MR SCIENCE lab in 2022 and now designs an innovative MR calibration system for future MRI technology. His vision is to transform and raise today's healthcare to a new level by leveraging advanced technologies to give human health the utmost priority.
