Ph.D. student Ronald Instrella awarded 2nd place for best MRS poster at ISMRM, TL1 Fellowship

Congratulations to Mr. Ronald Instrella, who was awarded 2nd place during the MR Spectroscopy study group’s best poster contest at the 2022 Joint Annual Meeting SIMRM-ESMRMB in London, United Kingdom on 7-12 May 2022. His abstract, “Error Propagation in Absolute Metabolite Quantification for MR Spectroscopy of the Human Brain,” was selected as a finalist and subsequently awarded 2nd place after an oral presentation at the study group meeting.

In June, Ronald was also awarded a TL1 doctoral fellowship through the Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NIH. His research proposal, “Evaluating Error and Uncertainty in Infant Metabolic Brain Signatures using MR Spectroscopy” was selected for a full year of support, with an option for 2nd year renewal. This project will be conducted under the direction of primary and secondary advisors, Dr. Christoph Juchem and Dr. Marisa Spann.
